Dissapointments

Dear Beautiful,

When is the last time you were disappointed? And who was it that disappointed you?

As woman we are often faced with a wide range of disappointments especially when someone or something does not meet our standards. But here is the thing in life disappointments are inevitable! People will hurt you; parents will fail you and children will get on your nerves. But its what you do with those disappointments that matter? Are you getting angry, cussing people out, or being petty when someone does not meet that standard? Are you bursting into tears because you feel like a person does not care? I know at one point in my life I was doing all these things and had to stop myself and grow-up!

What I have learned recently is that the reason why we become disappointed is because we placed to much faith in something or someone other than God! You see Psalms 27:10 says, “though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” I love that scripture because it suggests that even when we are disappointed God has the last say so and he never lets us go! He holds us close even in the middle of our disappointment. No matter what goes on around you, who lets you down etc. remember that God is in control. Instead of getting upset run to your prayer closet. Place your head on Big Daddy Gods shoulder and tell him all your cares, bring him your pain, and let him know how you feel.  I know when I go to Big Daddy God, he always gives me such peace and whatever I was concerned about does not even matter. The disappointment leaves and is replaced with joy and peace.

Today I want to encourage you to bring your disappointments to the father. Tell him how you feel and ask him to replace your tears with joy. Ask him to bring you close to him and keep you in the shadow of his wings. Remember you are beautiful, and God loves you more than you will ever know!

A Prayer for Today:

Lord take care of my beautiful sister. You see every tear she cries. You know the pains she bears, and you know the love she carries. Teach her how to bring her worries to you. Teach her to let go and let you move. Lord teach her how to surrender because your love is greater than any disappointment or lack of commitment that she has ever experienced. Lord fill her with your joy and teach her to follow you. Lord we love you and we thank you for who you are and all that you do. Amen.
