This Weeks Scripture: Ephesians 3
Guiding Questions:
Do you really know who you are in Christ and what authority you possessed?
When is the last time you used your rightful authority in Christ?
What are you struggling with and how have you used your Christ given authority to defeat it?
Notes: I love the book of Ephesians because Paul (who used to be Saul) was writing a series of letter to the Church of Ephesus. As he is writing these letters Paul is calling out the people who are supposed to be followers of Christ.
It’s in chapter 3 where Paul is in prison and he says look at this point in my life I am a prisoner for Christ Jesus. Paul is like I am going to stay here until the good news of who Christ is – is spread across the world. That’s how we have to be…we have to be so convinced about God and our purpose that he we are willing to lay down everything to follow him and spread the word of God. We have to be willing to endure rejection, hurt feelings, lost friends, etc. to gain access to the places where he wants to take you.
As Ephesians 3 continues it talks about how we are joint heirs with Christ and that Jews as well as Gentiles are all one by Gods grace. Translation we have access and authority to places because of Gods love and his grace! We also are one people as the curtain that once divided us is ripped into two allowing us to be in the kingdom. By faith we are in right standing in Christ and we can access places others cannot!
Whatever God is telling you to do get up and go do it! You don’t need a lot of degrees or certifications; the only thing you need is permission from Christ! Once you have your assignment and permission your ready to take territory! That’s what Paul said in Ephesians 3:7-11. Paul continues by saying draw near to God! Seek him and develop an intimate fellowship because he is the one that will set you apart, elevate you, and give you access!
Paul continues by praying over his constituents declaring boldness, stability, and love. He rebukes fear and discouragement. He declares encouragement and victory!
